Resolution Targets, 2016

used clothing, book binding glue, MDF board

12” x 12” x 3/4”

Talismanic prototypes of resolution targets found across the globe. Resolution test targets are used to measure the precision of imaging systems in a range of optical systems from microscopy to satellites. These targets are based on the “Siemens star”, an image pattern used to test the resolution of optical instruments in both the analog and digital world of photography and video to calibrate focus.
